Evey walked by the lake, her red curls blew around her face. It was raining, but the strands didn't stick to her face. Her mass of flaming hair seemed to have a life force of its own. She stopped and stared at a whirlpool that was forming just off the shore of the lake. She watched it form, then get bigger, and then bigger yet, and vaguely thought about what it might be like to ride the whirlpool. Would she enjoy it? Would it be terrifying; A wet train to a watery grave? She hugged her arms around herself and glared at the whirlpool as if it had been the thing to do her wrong. As if it had caused this block of ice to settle in her chest rather than him. Because she didn't want to acknowledge a fact. If she couldn't trust her own family, how could she damn well trust anyone else?
A couple of bruises, a few more scars. It was nothing new. Nothing of great importance that she'd notice and drop...deep into the whirlpool where everything was black and blue. Like the bruises. Her fingers tightened into balled fists and she fought back the tears that threatened to fall, swallowed the lump that had settled intself in her throat; a golfball that she thought might turn into a tumor if it didn't disappear soon.
Just a few bruises. Maybe a cut or two. But nothing too noticeable. No...nothing where anyone would see without looking...actually looking. But she didn't do it to herself. She wouldn't dare. But if she did, no one would notice that, either. Would they? Could they?

Allie was running out in the rain agian, her only time free. While running down past the lake, she notices Evey standing there staring into the water. "Hey Evey, what are you doing?" Allie slows to a steady in place jog.

Someone was speaking, but it didn't fully register at first. Evey blinked once. Twice. Three times and finally looked away from the lake and into the eyes of her best friend. She was cold, but hadn't realized until just then. She also didn't have an answer that wouldn't scare Allie away into the castle to fetch someone.
"Thinking..." That sounded normal enough. Normal for her...but then she thought that Allie would ask what she was thinking about and mentally kicking herself. She couldn't voice that allowed. She'd sound insane.

Allie looks into Evey's eyes carefully, they were hidding something "Spill it, come on... I promise it's just between us. You know all the bad things in my blood, it's time you shared your's." Allie stops her job and places a warm hand on her shoulder, "Let's dry some room for us." Allie waves her hand and the water curves around them, letting them dry off. Next she waves her hand and both her and Evey are dry. "Don't lie to me either, I will know."

"I'm not lieing when I say that it's not something I'd willingly talk about." She said and hugged her arms more tightly around her. "I guess..." she paused and took a deep breath, searching for the right words. Just a few bruises. "It's nothing." She sat down on the newly dried grass and looked back over the water.

Allie sits next to her friend, "ok if you don't want to talk about it, we can just sit here...." Allie whistles lightly.. waiting... and waiting... "Ready to talk yet?"

Evey glowered at her friend and sighed. "It's difficult, you know?" She mumbled. "You're dad's the source of all evil, basically, so I know you'll understand, but I just don't if I can talk about it. If he found out..." She shuttered and hugged herself tighter.

Allie looks at her friend "Do you not realize who you are talking to? My father still believes I'm fighting on his side, and you are afraid this person will find out... Plus side of having me as a friend is all I have to do is wave my hand and I could easily wipe his memory of any conversation I please."

Evey chewed her lower lip and shrugged lamely. "It's my father." She grumbled.

Allie smles at her friend, "Even better, hurting parents are even more fun... Come on.." She flicks her hand and a stone lifts off the ground, it just hovers there until she flicks her wrist agagain and it flies into the water.

Evey watched warily. "I..he..." She struggled for the words, but failed and just rolled up her sleeves. Her arms were black and blue and several silvery scars were visible.

Allie looks closely at them, "Why didn't you take you use Gadervamer? How did he do this?"

Evey quickly covered them back up. "With his hands..." She mumbled. "I don't know. I don't know why I didn't do a lot of things, all right?" She clenched her eyes closed and shook her head. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap."

Allie shakes her head, "No reason to apologize..." Allie turns her back to her friend lifting up her shirt, "See these marks?" She knew her fresh and old scars were still there. "Most of them are from my father, but the newer ones are from the ministry."

Evey frowned. She wouldn't show the rest of hers. "The Ministry?" she asked. "Umbridge?"
