Brayden thought for a second and realized something, "Did your mother were a pendent that had..." he grabs a piece of parchment and quickly draws a design, "this design." He shows her his drawing.

Brayden shakes his head, "Who gave it to her? Do you remember?" He taps his fingers against the table

"My grandmother, I think..." Charity thought back for a moment. "Yeah...no...my greatgrandmother. It was a gift in her will. Why do you ask?"

He puts his head in his hands, "The ring and pendent most likely held a curse to remove powers. Allie wore one for a long time, I took courses in cursed things. Your mother knew magic existed by didn't have any because she wore those jewelry, completely clueless to why. She must have had magic when she was little but when she got this she lost in and forgot she ever had it. Do you have the jewelry?"

"Uhm, yeah. It's in my trunk in my quarters." Charity's head was reeling. "But...I don't understand. Does that mean I'm half-blood?"

He nodded, "It would explain how both you and your brother have magic. Normally muggle-borns who have a sibling only one will have the power of Magic. Bring me the jewelry sometime and I will see. Have you worn this jewelry?"

"I've not worn it, no." Charity said, then wondered why she had'nt worn it. "I don't know why, though. I've always liked it..."

"You haven't worn it because you never felt the need to, your mother must have been told never to take it off. so she didnt." He taps his fingers on the table.

"If that's what you want? I might need someone to work with, to look." He wouldn't use a student, Brayden looks at Charity, "Would you wear it?"

"That depends on if my magic will depleted for good." She said with a small shrug.

"I would have to look at it, first but most likely with this design it will only be gone while you wear it." He really needed to look at it to make sure it was exactly the same.

Evey nodded and stood up quickly, rushing out of the Great Hall. She returned seven minutes later with the jewelry in her hands and sat back down in her chair.

He holds up his drawing to the jewerly and sees the details are exactly the same. "These are only going to take them away while you wear them, did your mother ever take these off?"
